Captain David Belcher
The 46th TN was founded in 1998 by Captain David Belcher along with Brian Gladden, Larry Stanley, Don Lewis and Darrell Ryan, all of whom were in the same Sons of Confederate Veterans camp.
Captain Belcher led the company for the longest period of it’s existence before sadly passing away in 2011 at the age of 64.
His legacy lives on however, as many in the hobby still fondly remember him and speak of him often. The members of the 46th past and present owe him a great debt of gratitude for forming a solid unit of men and women that has continued all these years.
Captain Larry Stanley
Upon Captain Belcher’s passing, 1st Lieutenant and founding member Larry Stanley stepped up to lead.
Taking on the role of Captain, he would continue to faithfully serve the company through the end of 2016, when he voluntarily stepped down for personal reasons.
We thank Captain Stanley for the years of service both as Lieutenant and later as Captain, and owe him a large debt of gratitude for keeping the unit going following the loss of Captain Belcher.
Lieutenant Andrew Norman
When Larry Stanley stepped down from command of the company, leadership passed to Lieutenant Norman.
Though serving as commanding officer of the 46th, he chose not to assume the rank of Captain and instead retained Lieutenant for the duration of his tenure.
It is thanks to Lt. Norman that the 46th came through the pandemic still as an active unit. Without his leadership there may not be a 46th TN today. In 2021 Lt. Norman stepped down as commanding officer for personal reasons, though he continues to reenact to this day.
Captain Jeff Williams
Having previously served as private, drummer and Sergeant, and having grown up in the company, Jeff Williams took command upon Lt. Norman’s abdication.
Though he would only have a tenure of several years, Captain Williams led the company faithfully and did a fantastic job to better the impression of each man as he would impart his own research into the unit, which allowed the 46th to expand the depth of our historical interpretation.
At the end of 2024, Jeff would step down from the Captaincy for personal reasons, though he continues to reenact and impart his knowledge to others.
Captain Timothy Collins
From the start of 2025, Timothy Collins was voted into Captaincy and maintains leadership of the 46th.
Having reenacted since the age of 10 years old, Timothy joined the 46th at the age of 15 in 2007 and has been an active member since. During the time leading up to taking command, he held the positions of private, Corporal, Second Sergeant and First Sergeant.
Now leading the 46th, he is working to expand the hobby into the younger generation and bring the 46th into a new period of growth.
